How is my voice used in AI Talk and shadowing?
Your voice is processed to transcribe what you say and to respond. You can delete conversation history in the app, and voice is never used for ads.

Speaking features need to hear you. Here’s how Podling handles your voice.
When Podling uses your voice
- AI Talk: your speech is processed so your AI partner can understand what you said and reply.
- Shadowing: your audio is processed while you practise.
Podling only uses the microphone when you’re using one of these features, and your phone will ask for permission first.
What we don’t do
- Your voice is never used for advertising.
Delete your conversation history
You can delete your AI Talk conversation history in the app at any time.
Turn off microphone access
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and turn off Podling.
- Android: open Settings > Apps > Podling > Permissions > Microphone and choose Don’t allow. Labels can vary slightly by device.
You can still listen, read transcripts and look up words without the microphone. AI Talk and shadowing need it to work.
