How it works

From “I like this show” to “I can talk about it”

Podling is built around one idea: you learn more from content you actually want to hear. Here's how an episode becomes a lesson.

  1. Pick a podcast you love

Search any public podcast or start with our picks by level, topic and accent.

    • Every show is rated by level (CEFR) and speaking speed
    • New episodes get transcripts automatically
    • Follow shows to build your queue
  2. Listen with the transcript

Follow the words as they are spoken and tap anything you don't know.

    • Meanings in your native language
    • Save words and phrases to your Word bank
    • Review the episode's study sheet afterwards
  3. Shadow, then talk

Copy the speakers to train your mouth, then use what you learned in a real conversation.

    • Sync or 1/2/3-sentence shadowing
    • AI Talk before, during or after listening
    • Comment and rate shows with other learners

A 20-minute daily routine

The default daily goal fits into a commute. Here's one way to use it.

  1. Minutes 0–10 · Listen

Play a new episode with the transcript. Tap only what blocks understanding.

  2. Minutes 10–20 · Shadow

Pick two or three sentences you liked and shadow them until they feel easy.

  3. Bonus · Talk

With Plus or Pro, spend five minutes telling AI Talk what the episode was about.

Questions, answered

Do I need to understand everything?

No. Aim to follow the main idea, and look up only the words that stop you. Understanding grows with each episode.

How long until I notice progress?

Most learners notice listening getting easier within a few weeks of daily practice. Consistency matters more than session length.

Can I use Podling without a subscription?

Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited transcripts, daily lookups, study sheets, shadowing and daily goals.
