Why Podling

Not learning for the sake of learning

You finish an episode because you want to know what happens next, not because it is homework. Podling starts from what you are already curious about, and the learning comes along with it.

Curiosity is the best study plan.

  1. Start from what you love

Tech, history, comedy, true crime: pick shows you actually want to hear, not textbook dialogues.

  2. Look things up because you want to know

You tap a word because you want to understand what the host just said. Words learned that way stick.

  3. Curiosity brings you back

The next episode is waiting, so twenty minutes a day doesn’t have to run on willpower.

Every word, right on time

The transcript moves with the audio, word by word. Tap anything you don't know and keep listening.

Everything you need between “I like this show” and “I understand it”

Questions, answered

What is Podling?

Podling is a mobile app that helps people learn languages with the podcasts they already love. Podling turns any public podcast into a language lesson. Its word-synced transcripts let learners follow native speakers in real time and tap any word for a meaning in their own language. Each episode comes with a study sheet, shadowing practice and AI Talk, a voice conversation about the episode. Podling streams audio from publishers' own servers and offers podcasters tools to claim their shows, provide official transcripts or opt out. Podling is available on iOS and Android, starting with English.

Which podcasts can I use?

Any public podcast. Search by name or paste an RSS feed link. New episodes get a transcript too, so you can keep up with your favourite shows.

Is Podling free?

Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited transcripts, 20 lookups a day, a 100-word Word bank, study sheets and shadowing. Plus and Pro add AI Talk and more, with a 7-day free trial.

What level of English do I need?

Podling works best from upper-beginner (around A2) upward. Each show has a level and speaking-speed rating, and lookups explain words in your native language.

How accurate are the transcripts?

Transcripts are generated with speech recognition and synced to every word. They are very accurate for clear audio; if you spot a mistake, long-press the sentence to report it and we fix it.

Does Podling change or re-host podcasts?

No. Audio streams from the publisher's own server, unchanged, and plays count for the show as usual. Podcasters can claim their show or opt out at any time.

Turn your next commute into English practice
