Política de cookies

Última actualización:

Por ahora, este documento solo está disponible en inglés.

This policy explains how the Podling website (trypodling.com) uses cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage. We keep this to a minimum: we do not use advertising cookies, and we use analytics only if you say yes.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. They can remember your choices, keep a site secure, or help measure how a site is used. "First-party" cookies are set by the site you visit; "third-party" cookies are set by other domains.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or social media pixels, and we do not sell or share data for targeted advertising.

Strictly necessary items are needed for the site to work as you would expect, so we do not ask for consent for them; the law allows this. They do not track you across other websites. Analytics are switched off by default: until you allow them, our pages do not load any Google Analytics code and send nothing to Google.

Google Analytics 4. If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages help readers, in aggregate. It records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a campaign link), approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), device type, browser, and page language, and actions on our pages such as clicking a store button, opening a FAQ answer, or how far you scroll an article. It never receives what you type into our forms; for searches in the Help Center we record the search words with email addresses and long numbers removed. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization and do not link analytics to any advertising. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Google may process this data in the United States and other countries (see our Privacy Policy); Google describes its own practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

Some pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which provides our hosting, security, and bot protection. Cloudflare Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser to tell people and bots apart. It does not use them for advertising. Embedded audio previews, where shown, stream from the publisher's server, which may receive standard request data such as your IP address.

3. Managing your choices

  • Cookie banner. When you first visit, you can accept or decline analytics. Declining is as easy as accepting. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
  • Withdrawing consent. Open "Cookie settings" in the footer and choose "Essential only". Google Analytics stops at once and we delete its "_ga" cookies from your browser. Withdrawing does not affect analytics collected before.
  • Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary items, parts of the site (such as your theme preference) may not work as expected.
  • Global Privacy Control. We treat a GPC signal as a decline for analytics.

4. The mobile app

The Podling apps do not use browser cookies, but they may use software development kits (SDKs) that work in similar ways, such as for crash reporting or, with your consent, analytics. These are described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Changes

If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and, where a new category needs your consent, ask you again.
